iMIS Module for Kofax

Red Eagle Consulting's iMISTM module and export for Kofax Capture® is designed to allow you to scan checks and remittance documents with Kofax®, post the payment to iMIS, and create the Check 21 bank deposit in one stream-lined process. If your AR process currently requires you to receive payments in iMISTM, this module may benefit you. Customers who currently use lock box services should compare the cost of the services to that of Check 21 deposit.

How does the process work?

Scan Checks and Remittance Information Together A clerk opens the mail with incoming payments and separates each envelope with a piece of paper known as a separator sheet. An operator then scans a batch of documents using Kofax Capture®. If an organization is using outsourced scanning, the images of the checks may be imported during this step. Click here to see the screen.

RECI Separation Module for iMISTM The RECI Separation Module for iMISTM runs as a Windows service. Once a batch has been scanned, it is processed with this module. The module automatically identifies which documents are checks and which are not. For the checks, the system reads the pertinent data, such as MICR number, account number, payee name, legal amount, courtesy amount, and check date.

RECI iMISTM Validation Upon completion of the separation module, the batch will move to the RECI iMISTM validation module. In this module an operator will see the data that was identified in the previous step and make any necessary corrections. The open invoices associated with the payee in the iMIS system are displayed on the bottom of the screen, and the operator simply clicks the appropriate invoices to apply the payment. Click here to see the screen.

Export When all items in the batch have been validated and posted, the batch is ready for export. The export for iMISTM generates a file that is used to update the AR data in iMISTM. Other exports may also be run to store the images in a document management system and to export the data in an ICL format for the bank deposit.
